The Giving Keys

Have you heard about a great organization called, The Giving Keys? It was founded by Caitlin Crosby. You may know her from acting in, 7th Heaven, Malcolm in the Middle, That 70's Show, The Hard Times of RJ Berger and a slew of other appearances. You may have seen her perform on her record, Flawz, with her label, Blackledge Music.

But Caitlin in more than just a threat with her acting and music career. She is one to give back. Caitlin founded the organization, The Giving Keys in 2010. This organization is a "Pay It Forward," group. One of my favorites. For $35 you purchase a key and have it engraved with a word.

You have a few different options of chains to choose from when you order. The concept of the key is to give it to someone who need to more than you. Then you can go to the website and leave your story of giving away the key, or getting a key from someone for others to read. I could spend hours reading people's stories. They are all so touching.

Another cool thing about this org is that employees the homeless to get them off the street. Lately, two of those people just got engaged. Now how is that for a little amazing bit of life?! I bought a key last year with "Strength" on it. It was given to my best friend who I find strength in when I need someone to talk to. So far that key has not traveled to a new person to touch yet.

These keys are ways to touch people. Check out this great organization and get a key to give away. I cannot wait to purchase another key soon. I just want to give it away so I can tell another story myself and give someone hope in their life.

  1. Wow! This sounds really cool! I'm definitely looking more into it. Partially because I have this thing about keys : ) But I also love it when celebs give back!
